Addressing AI’s Blind Spots: Speciesism Bias
Anant interviews Sam Tucker, executive director of open-source AI non-profit Open Paws.
Sam argues that current AI systems reflect bias in favour of factory farming and against non-human animals – what he calls speciesism. Open Paws works with the AI industry to reduce that bias and helps animal welfare groups engage with how training data shapes model behaviour.
He draws on his earlier venture VEG3, a subscription AI tool built for vegans and vegan businesses that answers common questions without fatigue.
